Purpose
The purpose of this statement is to explain how personal information is collected, used, disclosed and destroyed by Epp Law Office.

Epp Law Office strongly values the rights of its clients to privacy and confidentiality with respect to their personal information. In accordance with the Manitoba Law Society’s Code of Professional Conduct and the Personal Information and Protection of Electronic Documents Act (Canada), Epp Law Office acknowledges that it has an obligation to collect only the information required to provide services to its clients, to only use the information with the consent of its clients and to ultimately destroy the information when it is no longer needed.
Collection of Information
Personal information includes information you provide to us, information that we are specifically authorized by the client to collect and personal information that is provided to us by others. This personal information will only be collected by fair and lawful means. Collection of personal information will first be discussed when we are retained by a client and the client’s consent may be sought later for information that is not originally contemplated. Others that may provide personal information to us including service providers and other people we need to contact to provide services to our clients or for administrative or management purposes.
Use of Information
We will use personal information to provide the services that our clients have retained us for. The use of this personal information may include but not be limited to the following:
· receiving advice or assistance from other members of Epp Law Office where the other members are aware that the information is personal;
· registering documents in Land Titles, the Court of Queen’s Bench, Companies Office, the Personal Property Registry or any other public registry;
· receiving financing or health information;
· confirming Epp Law Office is not in conflict when we are being retained by clients;
Disclosure of Information
Personal information may be disclosed to or by us in the following ways:
· between our offices to manage client relationships and for administrative purposes;
· to other professional firms including government agencies when required;
· with other parties we may have a contractual relationship with and who have similar levels of privacy protection;
· to other such persons for which the client may specifically instruct or consent to;
Privacy Measures
Epp Law Office takes the necessary measures to ensure the security of the information it collects, uses or discloses. Personal information will only be accessible by the firm, and any persons who have entered into contract with us and have provided similar assurances for securing personal information. Access to our server and online files are protected through the use of passwords and virtual private networks that use encryption.
Accuracy of Information
Epp Law Office is committed to ensuring the personal information it collects, uses and discloses is as complete and accurate as necessary for its intended purpose. Any personal information found to be inaccurate or incomplete will be corrected or completed as required.
Access to Information
Where possible, we will make available to the client any personal information we have collected, used or disclosed upon the request of the person it relates to within a reasonable period of time. All requests for information should be directed to the responsible lawyer. Clients will be required to provide sufficient identification establishing that they are the person related to the personal information.
